I'm a producer, songwriter, and musician that makes psychedelic/dreampop/electronic rock music. I live in Seattle.

My music combines influences from 60’s pop psychedelia, alternative rock, and electronica.

2024 and 2025 brought a slew of new singles featuring strong vocals, snappy songwriting, and wide-ranging music production that combined indie rock, electronica, and psychedelia.

Previous releases showcased a more electronic sound: The collaboration Marzie & Machine: Tracing an Illicit Waveform EP; the jungle remix of said EP by Dwain; and the experimental synthwave Signal for Safe Passage.

machine learner is the alias of Walter Young, a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. Past work includes the electro-pop album Echo Victor with Loki Antiphony; producing and co-writing for the dream pop trio Arabica Futures; playing guitar, drums, and writing for Alexander's Dark Heart; and playing drums in The Try Force.
